About

Welcome

Welcome to Service Simple! Here you can find everything related to service and volunteerism. Many hours have gone into (and continue to go into) finding the resources needed to make service simple. Bookmark or follow this blog via email (you'll see the sign-up in the right hand column). Service Simple is a place to which you'll want to return!

What is this site?

Most of us enjoy and have a desire to help and uplift others. Sometimes, however, we let things get in the way, be it time, money, or a belief that service must be difficult or boring.

Service Simple aims to make service simple and joyful, to expand the view of what service is, and to provide all the resources needed so getting involved is easy (and even exciting). Check back often as this site is continually updated with new ideas and event listings.

How can I get started?

You can use this site in many different ways:
  • Search for general service project ideas sorted by gender and age group. While some are specific to the Utah County area, the majority of these projects could be done anywhere. You will find a variety of projects for the athlete, artist, animal lover, foodie, book lover, holiday enthusiast, and everything in between, ranging in time commitment, cost, and difficulty.
  • Look for local and national charities and organizations for whom you can create projects, donate money and goods, and help organize events.
  • Find a list of local (Utah County) and national organizations who have a continual need for volunteer work, ranging from the hospital to the library, the animal shelter to the Special Olympics, the Harp Program to the theater, as well as a list of places scouts could go to get started on their Eagle Projects.
  • Discover the best places to purchase (or find free) materials for humanitarian kits and crafty projects.
  • Find out about upcoming events in the Utah County area.
