Since I'm encouraging everyone to get involved in service, I thought I'd share a recent project of my own. After learning that one of my very best friends, D, was going through a rough patch, I knew I wanted to do something special for her. Since she lives several hours away I decided to send her a package.
The weekend I decided to pull this gift together a a mutual friend, T, (who lives near D) happened to be in my area. T and I started out scouring the aisles of Target searching for little gifts we thought D would appreciate. After we purchased the goods, we headed over to my place to assemble everything.
This was a great project because not only did I get to catch up and hang out with T (and save on shipping costs since he delivered it to her), but we both thoroughly enjoyed creating something easy and simple that made a big difference for D and really brightened her day. Check out what we did!
| Gathering our supplies after a Target run. |
| We wrote little notes about each item to explain why we included what we did. |
| A cuddle with this little guy would make anyone feel better! |
| We included sympathy cards with something personal to go with the gifts. |
| The next step was to tie our notes to each item with ribbon. |
| Securing the note to a headband. |
| We curled all the ribbons so it looked nice and packed everything in this box. |
| The finished product! |
